How it all got started: I started selling fudge at gun shows to keep up with Len who was my new boyfriend at the time; that was in February of 2006. On October 3, 2009, Len and I were married and from what began as a plate of fudge, the business has grown to where we are today. The fudge is still made and sold by myself and several of 5 agents across a four state area, being pushed on by the demand from our Faithful Fudge Followers. We now make over 200 flavors sold in the form of Bricks, Silver Assorted Platters, Texas Containers filled with Fudge, Gift Baskets, Wedding Favors, Gift Tins and Customized Assortments. Gifts of all kinds and sizes come from my little shop. I started first making fudge in my home kitchen. It became apparent very quickly that i had something really good going and needed to expand; I borrowed my church kitchen, then out grew it. I, then, shared a kitchen with Franks Cafe in the downstairs of the PD. Shortly, I out grew that too. After that, I began to look for a shop of my own and found a tiny little office space that I turned into a "commercial" kitchen. I had them put in a mop sink, a hand sink and a 3 tub wash sink. My entire kitchen was 150 sq foot, which STILL wasn't enough space, but I stayed in that tiny shop for 2 years. Then I moved to a bigger space, where I again had to pay to put in the electricity, pluming , kitchen safe floors and washable walls. This one had the same size kitchen but also had an office and a front area with a total of 500 sq ft. I stayed there for 1 year and it was obvious, I still needed more room and fast! Finally in February of 2011 I went all out and now have a third kitchen that I had to put in. I currently have 2,000 sq ft shop on I-27 near Bell. Still haven't set up walk in retail But its coming...... Please stay tuned for latest updates on the progress of The Fudge Lady In Texas.
